Office Building in Cádiz
In front of the gates of the millenary city of Cádiz (old Gadir), on top of the multiple layers of the past, the building for the offices for the tax authorities of the government finds a place to settle. In this particular site close to the ancient walls, diverse historical strata lay underground: Phoenician, Roman and Punic necropolis precede the defensive systems from the 17th and 18th century.
The proposal, includes a heart of wood, surrounded by a vegetal coat protected with a white aluminium skin. The sun is filtered protecting the façade and creating a soft atmosphere for workplaces and meeting rooms.
The volume is characterized by loggias with different intentions. Some acts as recreation spaces for employees and others as public points where visitors can discover a rich portrait of the city. The archaeological elements are protected below the access paths.
